July 31 — Police blotter

Samplings of recent calls to Portales law enforcement, according to police records:

Tuesday

• An officer responded to a report of a domestic disturbance about 1:40 p.m. in the 800 block of North Avenue I.

A 29-year-old woman said she and her boyfriend had argued, and he recorded her with a small video camera. During the argument, the boyfriend’s 13-year-old son threatened to hit the woman with a ball, and she slapped his arm.

The woman said she and her boyfriend had been having problems and he had a woman attack her the night before. She said she didn’t call the police at the time but wanted to report it now.

The officer told the woman she needed to complete a statement at Portales Police Department, and he told her boyfriend he also needed to make a statement if he wanted to pursue charges of battery for the woman slapping his son.

The officer asked them to bring in the camera so the video could be copied.

• An officer went to Fifth and Main streets about 8:30 p.m. for a report of possible sexual assault.

A 30-year-old woman said she’d just had an argument with a 41-year-old man who had just walked away down the street. The woman said the man and two other people had inappropriately touched her two children, ages 6 years and 6 months, in the past but not that night.

The officer took the woman and her children to Roosevelt General Hospital for examination, and a detective took over the investigation.
