Friday morning briefing: Fair warning, fair days and learn to surf

Good Friday morning. The weekend is upon us and it’s time for the morning briefing.

Fair warning

From 10:30 p.m. Saturday to 2:30 a.m. Sunday Clovis Police will be conducting a DWI check point within the city.

Officers will be targeting drunk and drug-impaired drivers.

Roosevelt County Fair

Today and Saturday are the last days to take in the Roosevelt County Fair.

The annual festivities are open all day at the fairgrounds in Portales. Just look for lots of amusement rides.

Announcer Red Barber called the game between the Cincinnati Reds and the Brooklyn Dodgers at Ebbets Field in Brooklyn, N.Y.
