Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving. Welcome to the Freedom New Mexico Thursday briefing.

Free dinners

There are two free Thanksgiving dinners today for folks who don’t have a place to eat and celebrate the holiday.

In Clovis, the Light House Mission’s annual citywide banquet is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the facility, 407 La Casillas Blvd.

And in Portales, the Outreach free Thanksgiving Dinner is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Memorial Building, 200 E. Seventh St . Information: 356-6662 ext. 1018.

Holiday closings

A reminder that city and county offices in Clovis and Portales will be closed Friday in addition to today.

Kitchen tip

For best results when you’re baking, leave butter and eggs at room temperature overnight.
