Thursday morning briefing: A truck pull, bright lights and free trade

Good morning and welcome to the Freedom New Mexico Thursday briefing.

Muscle time

Southwest Cheese is hosting a Moo-ve It truck pull fundraiser 10 a.m.-noon Saturday at the Curry County Events Center.

Teams of 15 members each test their strength by attempting to pull a truck.

All proceeds benefit United Way of Eastern New Mexico

Parade time

Mark your calendar for the Christmas Jubilee and Lighted Parade 6:30 p.m. Saturday in Portales.

The parade starts at the city Rec Center and follows 18th to Avenue D and Second Street to the courthouse square.

On this day in 1993, The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) is signed into law by President Bill Clinton.

Clinton said he hoped the agreement would encourage other nations to work toward a broader world-trade pact.
