Happy Chinese New Year
Eastern New Mexico University is hosting a Chinese New Year’s Banquet at 6 p.m. Feb. 3 in the Campus Union Ballroom.
Tickets are $15 and must be reserved today.
ENMU has a number of students from China who will share their culture. Performances include Chinese traditional folk dance, traditional instruments, singing, chorus by American students, delicious food and much more.

There is a Public hearing 4 p.m. today at the Melrose Senior Center, 427 Main St., to discuss the completion of the Melrose Wastewater Treatment Plant Phase 3. Information: 763-6016.
The Carol Erwin Spelling Bee starts at 8 a.m. Saturday in the Buchanan Hall Music Building at ENMUl.
Roosevelt County’s most ambitious young spellers are competing all day.
