Food drive nets 1,028 donated cans of food

As a community project, Dora High School student Sarah Walker, assisted by staff members Mallory Radcliff and Susie Thomas, had a school-wide food drive last week. A contest was held to see which elementary class and which high school class could bring the most food donations.

A total of 1,028 cans were brought in, with the kindergarten class bringing the most of any class (231) and the seventh graders being the top high school class with 145 cans. All of the donated food was taken to the food bank in Clovis for distribution.

Elementary students to perform musical

Fine Arts teacher Robin Simpson and Dora elementary students will present a spring musical at 2:30 p.m. Thursday. The free performance will take place in the school auditorium and is open to parents and community members.

Students competing in FFA contest

Dora ag teacher Kit Pettigrew is in Oklahoma City this week with four Dora students: Seniors Logan Bilbrey and Kyler King, junior Jasi Roberts and freshman Christian Gruis.

These students will compete in FFA judging contests at the national level.
