Some of my Memorial Day weekend was tedious, I'm sad to say. I had a long weekend away from work as many others did, but each day contained tedious tasks which had to be done, such as cleaning, computer work and car work.
But despite all these tedious tasks, I had a lot of fun mixed in, including a barbecue and a trip to the zoo and the shooting range.
I enjoyed a Sunday afternoon gathering at a friend's house with fajitas and some great games of water pong, which is beer pong with water rather than beer.
I've never had much confidence in my eye-hand coordination skills, but I won three games in a row of throwing a ball into cups, so I had the fun of bragging rights along with the fun of the game.
There was also a lot of good music and laughter and I got to meet some new faces. My friend is a great host, who knows how to have a fun shindig.
Start gearing up, Portales, because there are a lot of other great events coming up this month, such as Heritage Days, Fifth Fridays and another Yam Music Series concert with Everyday Mustache.
