The El Portal Chapter of the DAR met on April 13 in the home of Jody Lowry.
Pam Wallace called the meeting to order and led the opening rituals.
Carolyn Thompson read the President General's message followed by Cori Snobble, who gave the National Defense minute combined with the Indian minute.
As her state Regent's project, Zadeea Harris established a monument honoring the Navajo Code Talkers. The monument was dedicated at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe on March 21. Three of the Code Talkers were present.
Magann Rennels read the Constitution minute and Vicky Stratton reported about conservation.
Our guest, Esther Steinle, presented a program about Angel Arms, a non-profit program that collects money to enable military members to go home for Christmas.
Five members attended a regular meeting April 3 that was held at Rib Crib,
The members that attended were Colleen Baldwin, Sandy Heath, hostess, Laura Loflin, Patsy Lorenz and Suzy Moore.
