The Eastern Plains Council of Governments met on Wednesday at 418 Main Street and took the following actions:
- The committee approved of an accounting services contract with Eric Robinson of Integrity Accounting & Consulting, LLC. for $20,000 a year. Executive Director Sandy Chancey said Robinson has been an audit manager for six of EPCOG’s audits.
“I trust him,” Chancey said. “I know he’ll keep us on the right track.”
Chancey said she will also be working on updating EPCOG’s financial management policies with Robinson.
- EPCOG’s Rio Pecos Estates property in Santa Rosa was damaged during the July 3 hail storm. Chancey reported roof, window, and flood damage. She said EPCOG will pay $1,250, and the insurance company will pay for the rest of the damages.
- Officials from the Village of Roy requested they be able to participate in EPCOG meetings via conference call. Chancey said a revision might need to be made to the open meetings resolution to allow the conference calls, and if so, the revised resolution will be presented for approval at the next EPCOG meeting.
- EPCOG’s contract work with the Local Growth Management Committee is complete. Under the contract EPCOG conducted research for the Regional Growth Plan in the three areas of health care, education, and economic development within the Roosevelt and Curry County area. Chancey said Economic and Community Development Planner Raymond Mondragon gave his final report on the Regional Growth Plan at the LGMC meeting on Tuesday.
“The LGMC was pleased with our work,” Chancey said.
