Vicki Reyes, 33, is one of the voices you hear when you have a question pertaining city business and one of the first people you will meet when you go to City Hall.
Reyes is the administration secretary at the City Manager’s Office and has been working at City Hall for almost 10 years. Reyes was born and raised in Clovis. Reyes graduated at Clovis High School just like her mother before her.
What do you like about working for the City of Clovis? I started working here when I was 22, so the things I’ve learned in my 10 years here still amaze me. There is definitely never a dull moment. I’ve also been very lucky to be able to participate in all of the city and most chamber events. Not to mention the people that I’ve met along the way. I’ve made some really great friends.
What occupation did you want when you were younger and why? For some reason still unknown I wanted to be a teacher. I still can’t explain that one.
What is your favorite thing about Clovis and why? The fact that it is small enough that you tend to know almost everyone. Which isn’t always a good thing, but it definitely comes in handy at times.
Favorite memory growing up in Clovis? Being able to graduate from the same high school as my mom. It was an emotional day for everyone anyway, but she said it was an awesome feeling to see me wearing that purple gown just like she did.
What is your favorite thing about growing up in Eastern New Mexico? That we undoubtedly have the most beautiful sunsets around and you never have to question when someone asks red or green.
