Meetings Watch: Roosevelt County Hospital District Board of Trustees — Aug. 29

The following report on Tuesday’s Board of Trustees of Roosevelt County Special Hospital District meeting was provided by hospital CEO Larry Leaming:

  • Dr. Imran Shabbir was introduced as the newest family practice physician member of the RGH clinic.
  • Chief Financial Officer Eva Stevens presented financial statements and the balance sheet for the month of July. Gross patient revenue was $4.3 million, but after write-offs and bad debt, operating revenue was $1.4 million. Operating expenses was $1.7 million, which equaled out to a net income of minus $213,000.
  • Director of Medical, Surgical and Emergency Nursing Mercedes Lopez reported that seven new experienced nurses have been recently recruited.
  • CEO Larry Leaming reported that anesthesia services contract will expire at the end of 2013, and the hospital is considering all options for improving service.
