Fugitive captured in Texas

A tip to Crime Stoppers has ended with the capture of a murder suspect and fugitive who was the subject of a manhunt in Texas and eastern New Mexico.

A deputy at the Parmer County Sheriff’s office confirmed Alejandro Rodriguez, 20, was caught Friday by U.S. Marshals at a motel in Potter County. He was in Potter County’s jail awaiting transfer to Harris County, Texas, to face murder charges.

Rodriguez was named a suspect in the Aug. 28 shooting death of Jesus Williams in Baytown, Texas, in a bi-state alert sent Thursday to area media and law enforcement. He was last seen on foot near Bovina.
