Club notes: RGH AUX, BETA PHI


 The Oct. 16 executive committee meeting of the Roosevelt General Hospital Auxiliary was called to order by President Linda Utarro. The minutes and Treasurer’s reports were accepted as read. The mammogram machine was purchased last month. President Utarro and Vice President Eva McAffos reported a very good turn-out for the RGH Health Fair Oct. 12. More than 700 people had various tests made and 75 did the walk. RGH Liaison Amber Hamilton reported the new doctors in the hospital. They are Dr. David Stalker and Dr. Shah Kevurteumar, surgeons; and Dr. Praveen Chava, Dr. Vineela Lavu, and Dr. Muhammad Shabbir in Family Practice.


 Six members, Collene Baldwin, Laura Loflin, Patsy Lorenz, Beverly Miller, Suzy Moore and Sandy Heath, attended their back to Epsilon Sigma Alpha meeting. Thy met Sept. 3 at Collene Baldwin’s house with Laura Loflin as hostess as well. Karen Burns of the Fire Department gave a report on fire prevention. Education Director, Beverly Miller presented Karen with a certificate of appreciation.


Members Collene Baldwin, Sandy Heath, Laura Loflin, Patsy Lorenz, Beverly Miller, Suzy Mabre and two guest met at Chilis Restaurant for their social and fundraiser for St. Jude’s Children’s Cancer Research Hospital. On Sept. 23, Chilis donated 100% of their profits to St. Jude’s and The fFight against Childhood Cancer “Epsilon Sigma Alpha” thanks to all the people all over the States who participated in raising money.


Five members and guest Cathy Romero attended the Nov. 5 meeting at Simply Salads.


Hamilton reported an increase of women using the new radiology suite which the Auxiliary furnished. The Nov. 20 meeting will meet in the Conference Room at Heartland at 10 a.m. There will be no December meeting. New officers will be installed in January.
