Thousands of books will be available at the annual used book sale sponsored by the Friends of the Portales Public Library, according to the organization’s press release.
The sale will run from Thursday to Saturday in the library’s meeting room. Sale hours are 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Friday, and 8 a.m.-noon on Saturday.
Paperback books are sold for 25 cents each and hardbacks are sold for 50 cents each. Thursday, shoppers may buy a bag, or bring their own, and fill it with their choice of books for $5. On Saturday, all remaining stock will be available for $1 a bag.
The sale is the largest annual fund raiser for the Friends of the Library, according to the release, and all proceeds are used to support activities at the library. For more information, or to inquire about donating books, call the library at 356-3940.
