The Clovis Community College Company class is joining forces with Eastern New Mexico faculty to present “Bat Boy: The Musical” this weekend.
The production, which originally premiered in 1997 at the Actors Gang Theatre in Los Angeles, will be jointly directed by CCC’s Christy Mendoza and ENMU’s Jean Ornellas.
“Bat Boy: The Musical” is a comedy/horror show about a half boy/half bat creature who is discovered in a cave near a small town. Bat Boy later learns how to act like a normal boy and falls in love, but his adopted parents eventually reveal the secret of his unholy origin.
Students involved in the production hail from CCC, ENMU, Clovis High School and Cannon Air Force Base.
According to Mendoza, the production has been entered in the American College Theater Festival and will be judged during this weekend’s productions.
