A 40-year-old Clovis man was sentenced Thursday to 15 years in prison for criminal sexual penetration of a child under age 13, according to a press release from District Attorney Andrea Reeb.
Reeb said Shane Jackson must serve at least 85 percent of his sentence before being eligible for parole and must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
Reeb said sheriff’s investigators determined Jackson had been sexually abusing the child for about a year. He was arrested in July 2013.
Jackson pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced by District Judge Fred Van Soelen. Chief Deputy District Attorney Brian Stover prosecuted the case and Jackson was represented by attorney Brett Carter.
