Former Hound signs with Polish pro team

Former Eastern New Mexico University point guard Rodney Blackmon has agreed to a contract to play professional basketball overseas in Poland’s Tauron Basket Liga.

Blackmon, according to Eurobasket.com, is the top point guard on the depth charts for Polpharma Starogard Gdnaski. He is one of three Americans on the team, along with Tony Meier of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Jessie Sapp of Georgetown.

The two-time Lone Star Conference selection led the Greyhounds last season in points (15.8) and minutes (33.7) per game, and also paced the team with 46 steals. He dished out 3.5 assists and grabbed 3.2 rebounds per contest.

The league begins play in October, with the season running through the early part of June.
