CASPER, Wyo. — Junior Trey Southern of Las Cruces and senior Clinton Hiett of El Paso competed with partners from other schools on Monday in the first go of team roping at the College National Finals Rodeo.

Southern and Tyler Rees of Odessa College were 11th with a time of 7.3 seconds, while Hiett and West Texas College’s Chase Johnson were among a number of tandems which didn’t acquire a score.

The second go, third go and short round are slated over the next three days.
