Elida beat district foe Grady 25-16, 25-15, 25-1 Saturday to capture the Class 1B state volleyball title at the Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho. It is Elida’s third state title, and first since 1990. Grady was making its first state volleyball title appearance. Portales plays Pojoaque at 4 p.m. for the 3A crown.
