Floyd grad starts mission to help needy with transportation

A Floyd High graduate has started a ministry to help needy families better navigate their lives. July 3, 1950: Elida prepared for an all-day July 4 celebration that included a carnival, a rodeo and enough free barbecue to feed 3,000 people. Gov. Thomas Mabry planned to be on hand for the dedication of state highway 330 that would link Elida, Floyd and Melrose.
