Press release: Peanut Festival in Portales this weekend

The annual Peanut Valley Festival at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales will be held in the Campus Union Building from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 18.

There would be no more parking on the Roosevelt County Courthouse lawn, according to a decision by the new county commissioners in their first meeting of the year. The commissioners said they noticed bare ground around the courthouse, and declared that no more public meetings could be held on the lawn.
