Sept. 23, 1962

The Portales News-Tribune reported that the Portales High School marching band would march in the annual Parade of Bands, which was to open the Panhandle-South Plains Fair in Lubbock the following Monday. This parade featured more than 30 marching bands each year with no other type of entry allowed.

Sept 19, 1958

The Portales High School Ram Marching Band was to perform a half-time performance at the Portales-Clayton football game with the theme “Salute to the Service Clubs,” because the local clubs helped raise money for new uniforms.
