Carol Morgan, RN, nurse manager for the New Mexico Department of Health in Portales, received the Excellence in Public Health/Community/School Nursing award, presented by ITT Technical Institute at the 2009 Nursing Excellence Awards.

Nov. 17, 1963

C.R. Nelson received the first Superior Accomplishment Award ever presented to a local employee from Postmaster Bill Foster, according to the Portales News-Tribune. A $100 cash bonus goes with the award. Nelson has been a postal employee for 28 years.
