Store hosting grand opening

PNT Staff Report Dollar General store at 1015 W. Second St. has scheduled a promotional grand opening for Saturday and Sunday. The store has been open since May 26, about two months after the Dollar General location on Avenue C was destroyed by fire.

Two Portales men were sentenced to prison terms by District Judge E. T. Hensley. Jon B. Mestas, who was charged with forgery, faced up to five years behind bars. Clee Mooneyham, was sentenced to three years for breaking and entering the Handy Food Store.
