Portales Daily News: Steel for the new Portales Hotel was being unloaded at the building site today, and steel riggers are due here tomorrow to start work. Most of the brick and tile for the four-story, 60-room structure was on the ground.

According to the Portales Daily Tribune, Portales business and home owners are reminded that tomorrow, Friday, is New Mexico Statehood Day and all are urged to fly flags in the commemoration of New Mexico’s joining the union as a state.
